Do as Michael says. Find a quiet room, light some candles, pour yourself a glass of wine. Sit down and listen to Ghosts Upon The Earth while reading Michael’s blog. Get lost in the music…
In my mind, I still feel like a little kid.
Then I remember that I’m twenty-one and in my fourth year of university and have bills and loans and drink coffee and have “friends from high school” and “friends from college” and have lived alone and am for all intents and purposes — a grown up.
It’s mind boggling.

But they’re about to get a lot more deadly — the local man who is credited with talking at least 160 people out of killing themselves since 1964 died this week.
Window-watcher Don Ritchie, known as the Angel of the Gap, could spot the troubled ones from his home across the street; he’d wander down to the cliff-edge and calmly ask, “Can I help you in some way?” More often then not, he could. He’d chat with them a bit, then invite them back to his place for a cup of tea.
“My ambition has always been to just get them away from the edge, to buy them time, to give them the opportunity to reflect and give them the chance to realize that things might look better the next morning,” Ritchie once said. “You just can’t sit there and watch them. You’ve got to try and save them.”

Children today are tyrants. They contradict their parents, gobble their food, and tyrannize their teachers.

I’ve seen one of these in real-life before — I had an attending who would carry it in his pocket, and when he’d run into a new nurse, he’d whisper loudly “I brought in a stool sample today, would you mind taking a look at it?” and then toss the cup into his/her palm and watch for the reaction. Tee hee!
Reblog: “Do Your Ears Hang Low” for the Chronically Ill
Do your knee joints swell?
Do they throb and burn like hell?
Are your muscles all in knots?
Are you ill, but friends can’t tell?
Can you barely move your shoulders
And though you’re sick, still on you soldier?
Do your
knee
joints
swell.
Any verses to add?
Hilarious!! I am also envious that I didn’t think of this nursery rhyme/kiddie song first, as a topic for my own Medically-Correct Nursery Rhymes. Well done. :)
